Urban Poets Society

The Urban Poets Society can be described many ways. Some have called it a click. Others have called it a lyrical collective. Above all, the Urban Poets Society is an assembly of amazing writers who endeavor, through creative writing workshops and performances, to perfect their craft. The word “Urban” puts special emphasis on the communal experience that compels us to write- dwelling in the City. Whether that city is a ghetto, a hood, downtown or uptown, life in the city is a muse-making our poetry a part of the urban expression. Our goal is educate, express, inform and uplift through the power of our language.
